13' Saturn Inflatable Ocean Fishing Kayak OFK396

The new 2021 13' Saturn Ocean Fishing Kayak has arrived with some cool new improvements including our upgraded inflation valves  and our HeytexNew 2021 Model 13' Saturn Ocean Fishing Kayak PVC construction. We also revised the floor design to limit water entering through the bottom of the kayak but still provide self-bailing capabilities to discharge water that splashes in. This innovative technology allows water to escape through the bottom and makes the ocean fishing kayak OFK396 ideal for use not only on the ocean but also for flat rivers, bays, and streams. The overall design is similar to our Standard Fishing Kayaks and provides the aluminum bench seats for a comfortable sit-on-top condition but the self-bailing floor allows for additional use in conditions where small amounts of water can enter and drain quickly. The floor has 4 smaller drains/ports that will allow water to discharge through the bottom.

Please note that while this kayak is self-bailing it is not really intended for whitewater kayaking use. It was designed to allow water to penetrate through the floor but the speed at which the water releases from the kayak is much slower than our professional whitewater kayaks. If you are looking to use the kayak in river rapids then please consider the 13' Saturn Whitewater Kayak which will yield much better self-bailing results.

Advantages
Owned this boat for a few years now and it's fantastic. It's been fishing all up and down the east coast from Florida to Cape Cod and it still holds air like the day we bought it. Once we get where we're going we leave it inflated for the trip and it never runs out of air. We glued on six Scotty brand mounts for fishing rods and anchor attachments and they make the boat that much better. Everyone that has been on this boat is shocked at how stable it is for being an inflatable. We've had a family of four on it paddling around. I had a buddy on it with me that is 6'6" and 300lbs and I swear the boat didn't even notice. One trip to Lake Moomaw in Virginia we had two adults and five kids on it doing flips into the water, climbing back in and then doing dives off it into a lake for hours, took it fishing all day the next day and it didn't have to add any air. This boat is amazingly well built.
Disadvantages
- The included pump works fine but it sucks, get a better one.
- The included carry bag is terrible. I've been trying to find anything else but so far haven't had any luck. I'm about to break out the heavy duty sewing machine and make one with wheels.
- The little plastic tabs that lock the pins in place are fragile and get lost right away. Haven't had an issue with fins coming off without the pins but it's worth mentioning.
